Information for Parents
Family Hero Points is a family-oriented app, and we are committed to protecting the privacy of children. This section is specifically for parents and guardians.
COPPA Compliance
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
How Children Can Use Our App
- Parents or legal guardians must create and manage the primary family account
- Children can't not join the family without an invitation code shared from their parents
- Child account are managed and controlled by the parent or guardian
What Information We Collect from Children
When parents invite a child to join Family Hero Points, we may collect:
- Name or Nickname: A name or nickname to identify the child within the family account
- Task Completion Data: Records of which tasks the child completes and when, to track points and rewards
- Email address: If a child choose to sign in with Google, their email may also be collected. If a child choose to sign in with Apple, their email may or may not be collected, depending on the email sharing option the child selects.
We do NOT collect:
- Addresses information
- Phone numbers from children
- Precise location data
- Photos or images
- Social security numbers or other sensitive identifiers
How We Use Children's Information
Information collected from child profiles is used solely to:
- Display the child's name/nickname in the parent's Family Hero Points app
- Track task assignments and completions
- Calculate and display points earned
- Provide the core functionality of the family task management system
Third-Party Disclosure of Children's Information
We share children's information only with the following categories of third parties, and only to the extent necessary to provide our Services:
- Cloud Hosting Provider: Specifically, Firebase (from Gogole) to securely store and process data, as well as track app usage. Firebase's privacy policies can be found here.
We do NOT:
- Sell or rent children's information to third parties
- Use children's information for behavioral advertising
- Share personally identifiable information with advertising networks
- Use third-party analytics that collect personally identifiable information from children
Parental Consent
Before we collect any personal information from a child, we require verifiable parental consent. Parents provide consent by:
- Signing in the app via Google or Apple
- Explicitly invite their children to join the app with fmaily invite code
- Reviewing and accepting this Privacy Policy
Parental Rights
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review: Request access to any personal information we have collected from your child
- Delete: Request deletion of your child's personal information at any time
- Refuse Further Collection: Withdraw consent and refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information
- Control: Manage your child's profile, including editing or removing information

4. Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In
4.1 Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in to Family Hero Points using Google Sign-In, we receive the following information from Google:

- Your name
- Your profile picture (optional)
- A unique Google user ID
How We Use Google Sign-In Data
We use the information received from Google to:
- Create and authenticate your Family Hero Points (a PatchWorks Studio app) account
- Display your name and profile picture in the app
- Communicate with you via your email address
- Provide a seamless sign-in experience
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
PatchWorks Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Limited Use Disclosure
We use Google user data only for the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:
- We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes
- We do not use Google user data for targeting, profiling, or behavioral advertising

If you choose to sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive the following information from Apple:

- Your name (you can choose to share your real name or provide a different name)
- A unique Apple user ID
How We Use Apple Sign-In Data
We use the information received from Apple to:
- Create and authenticate your Family Hero Points (a PatchWorks Studio app) account
- Communicate with you via the email address provided (real or relay)
- Display your name in the app
Apple Private Relay
If you choose to hide your email using Apple's private relay, communications sent to that relay address will be forwarded to your actual email address by Apple. You can manage your email preferences in your Apple ID settings.
Revoking Apple Access
You can stop using Sign in with Apple and manage your connection by:
- Going to Settings on your iOS device
- Tapping your Apple ID
- Selecting "Password & Security" > "Apps Using Your Apple ID"
- Selecting Family Hero Points and choosing to stop using your Apple ID
5. Third-Party Services We Use
We use the following third-party services to provide and improve our Services. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

When you delete your account:
